The EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK Award celebrates local authorities that have excelled in raising awareness about sustainable urban mobility during the main event week, from 16-22 September. The award is directly related to local authorities’ active participation in the campaign, which have completed three main criteria

• Оrganising activities focused on sustainable mobility from 16-22 September;
• Implementing one or more permanent transport measures;
• Holding a ‘Car-Free Day’.

For the events in September 2022 and the Car-Free Day, Sofia Municipality and Sofia Urban Mobility Centre demonstrated the innovations of INNOAIR Project - the electric buses for the new “green on-demand public transportation”, the cameras for counting cyclists, the new tariff policy, along with the other permanent measures implemented by the city.

At the Award ceremony in Ghent, Belgium, Sofia, was presented , as the capital city rolling out clean & intelligent transport services, with access to new electric buses for the commuters, the on-demand mobile application and new more affordable tariffs, extension of the metro, more cycling lanes, the renewed bus fleet and pedestrian infrastructure.
