The exhibition Place by the Window, which is the second part of an art project for the Manastirski Livadi – west district in Sofia, will be exhibited from December 18, 2020 to January 31, 2021 at the municipal gallery Vaska Emanouilova. The author is the Czech artist Katerina Seda, who has extensive experience in working with communities.

The project includes two events that aim to give the people of the neighborhood a voice to share their ideas and visions in order to improve the place where they live. The first of these events took place at the end of last year on Kazbek Street. More than 100 residents painted on the windows of their cars what they wanted to add to or change about the street landscape. Manastirski Livadi - West is one of the most obvious examples of negative consequences from uncontrolled development. Katerina Seda's project will continue in 2021 with the aim of contributing to the change of the neighborhood by activating and giving voice to the people living there.

The Place by the Window project is supported by the Ministry of Culture in the Czech Republic, the Czech Center in Sofia, Sofia Municipality, Vitosha District, Sofia City Art Gallery. It is realized on the initiative of the Sofia City Art Gallery - branch gallery Vaska Emanouilova and the association Together for Manastirski Livadi - West.
